Lea & Perrins Giveaway

Sometimes it is the little things in life that can put a smile on your face.  Last night, I was lucky enough to come home from the gym to the smell of dinner cooking in the kitchen.  I typically do most of the cooking in our household so I am always appreciative when Bret takes it upon himself to cook dinner for us.

Bret made a really hearty dinner of steak and potatoes.  The potatoes were twice-baked and seasoned with butter, caramelized shallots and paprika.  Because Bret had some extra caramelized shallots, he made a simple compound butter and I put a generous slice of the butter on my steak.

Bret and I also used a little bit of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce with our steak.  I recently received a complimentary bottle via Foodbuzz and we hadn't yet used it.  I have faithfully used Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce for years and I was definitely excited to receive a free bottle of it.

Even better, Foodbuzz and Lea & Perrins is providing a complimentary bottle of any Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce (10 oz or smaller) to one of my readers.  There are two ways to enter:

1.  Leave me a comment telling me how you typically use Worcestershire sauce.  Do you use it as a marinade? As an ingredient in a dish? As a sauce?
2.  In a shameless act of bribery, vote for me as Boston's Best Local Blogger here and leave me a comment telling me that you voted.

Voting ends on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11 PM EST.  A winner will be drawn via Random.org.

Won't lie, as soon a I opened your page, I thought those were latkes. Apparently I have holidays on the mind. Though I guess not too far off since one of them is a potato. I'm going to try doing that with potatoes actually, I totally don't experiment with paprika nearly enough.

Yeah, it toally is the season for giveaways. And Chex Mix. And what better way to use lea and perrins than in Chex Mix really. the crunchy, salty, spicy. it's love at first crunch. I'm especially a fan of the chex mix with extra cashews. Nom.

I use it in burgers or meatloaf sometimes.

Please tell Bret that if he'll make me those potatoes, I'll make him a dessert! They look sooo good!

I love lea & perrins! I use it all the time - in marinades for steak or salmon, in caesar salad dressing, sometimes even in stirfy and fried rice!

I usually use it as a marindate but I will occasionally throw a few splashes ontop of a burger for some extra flavor. I also use it when making chili.

We use it in bloody marys of course, but also bloddy marias (with tequila instead) and finally it is essential to my homemade caesar salad dressing.

Shakti said...

Of course we use it in Bloody Marys, but it's also good in a Bloody Maria (w/ tequila instead), a Michelada (w/ beer instead!) and finally, I can't make my caesar dressing without it.

So nice to have dinner ready and waiting for you! I don't care if it's a box of mac 'n cheese, it always tastes so good when you don't have to do it!

Worcestershire sauce is my secret flavor boost in my chili. It just wouldn't be the same without it.
