Last month, I received some free samples of
Tostitos and
Lay's Dip Creations seasoning mixes courtesy of the
Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program.
We used the Garden Onion seasoning mix right away to make a flavorful veggie dip, which wasn't the most creative way to use the seasoning mix but pretty tasty. While chips are hard to find in our pantry, Bret and I are seriously addicted to popcorn. We've started making popcorn on the stovetop regularly for a great snack during all of these Celtics and Bruins playoff games and Bret came up with the great idea to toss the popcorn with half a packet of the Country Ranch seasoning mix.
This was definitely a great call because we got to add a lot of flavor to our popcorn without having to add lots of butter or salt.
What are you snacking on these days?

nice job getting creative with the samples! For some reason I have not had popcorn in ages and I am now craving a big bowl!
I am a popcorn fiend! I make it just in a pot (not in an air popper) and here is one of my favorite recipes. It's not so healthy, but very tasty: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/gale-gand/spicy-popcorn-recipe/index.html
Love this idea! I love the popcorn seasonings they have at some movie theaters and this seems similar, but better. My go-to popcorn toppings are garlic salt and parsley.
That sounds really good. As we speak, I'm eating dark chocolate covered pretzels. It's almost lunchtime, right?
Stove top popcorn is the best! Fun way to spice it up
I could eat an entire bag of popcorn myself...once I start, I really can't stop!
Great idea for the dip...must have added a nice zesty kick!
I love popcorn with truffle oil and nutritional yeast. It is delicious. Those samples look yummy!
That is an awesome idea! I love popcorn and am not much of a potato chip person.
What a creative way to use the seasoning! And I'm the opposite - I have way more chips in my cabinet than I'd care to mention. :/
i need to get into the habit of making popcorn! fabulous use for those seasonings, too :)
yumm that ranch popcorn looks like a great game-time snack. one of my go-tos is josephs wheat tortillas and laughing cow cheese.
I like this idea... we're big popcorn eaters, too! I don't think we realized we'd use our popcorn maker so much when we registered for it. Usually we use a little salt and some onion powder on ours, but I'd love to get more creative with it. (Parmesean cheese? Cumin?)
YUM! I'm a HUGE popcorn fiend, but I normally pop it in paper bags in the microwave, and we don't have a micro in the new apartment! I don't know why I haven't just made it on the stovetop??
For years I've been joking that I wished the cool ranch Doritos seasoning came in a powdered form so I could sprinkle it on whatever I wanted. This country ranch sounds like the perfect way to try!
Thanks for sharing :)
Oh that sounds so good! I love playing up my popcorn seasonings!
