| Pressing Tofu For My Marinated Baked Tofu Stir-Fry |
No matter what my method, I never feel like I have quite gotten all of the water out and the tofu never ends up having quite the crispy texture that I'm looking for.
I saw a few product reviews for the TofuXpress on some of my favorite blogs and I put it on my Amazon wishlist in 2010. Almost two years later, I finally got it as a Christmas gift from my sister (thanks, Jessica)!
The tofu press is everything that it says it will be. It helps easily squeeze out the excess water and without excess water (and a really hot pan), you can get an awesome crust on the tofu.
We made a simple tofu stir-fry tonight for dinner and the tofu texture was really meaty.
The TofuXpress was one of many food-related items I received for Christmas and Hanukkah, including cookbooks, food-themed fiction, and a new rice cooker.
Tell me, what are your favorite food-related gifts to give or receive?

I am dying for a tofu press! I love the results it gives.
Yes! I got the same press for Christmas and am SO excited about trying it out in a stirfry tonight, especially since your results were so positive!
your tofu looks so delicious! what a great gift from your sis. My favorite food related gifts that I got this year were from Adam (a William Sonoma Pan) and my mom's boyfriend (A pack of Lindeman's Fruit Beers!)
My husband is Japanese and we love tofu, I wish I could get this here in Rome. Happy Holidays!
I'm not a big fan of tofu but when I do eat it I like it pressed and chewy.
I NEED THIS. I hate wet tofu!
Ohhh I love tofu too but still don't have a tofu press! I should've put it on my wish list too!
what a cool kitchen tool! never seen this before.
That's great to know that the tofu press works so well! And I received a red KitchenAid stand mixer for Christmas this year. I could have cried!
I don't cook with tofu nearly as much as you do - I'm sure you LOVE it!
Definitely cookies and chocolate!
Never knew such a contraption existed! Cheers to a wonderful 2012!
So that's what it's for! I've seen it on several blogs but never quite realized using it results in such a lovely crust - I'll have to get one :)
Happy New Year!!
very cool, that looks fantastic :) And it will be nice not to have to bring out all the heavy pans for pressing tofu now! hope you had a wonderful holiday!!!
I was just using mine a few days ago and was thinking how awesome it was. I decided to switch dinner plans to tofu, so I just plopped it into the thing and put it back in the fridge... and continued doing what I was doing in the kitchen. Normally the whole set up would have taken up half of my counter space. Love it! Happy New Year!!!
What a cool gadget! I rarely make tofu, but having this around would make it happen more often, for sure!
Cool - this might end up on my wishlist too...recently I have been all about cute individual sized things. I got French onion soup bowls and mini tart pans for xmas
Oh how neat! I ended up getting a Professional 600 Kitchen Aid mixer this year, and am in love with it!
