Caffe Dello Sport

After stopping for a sweet treat at Lulu's Sweet Shoppe, Bret and I continued to wander around the North End.  We stopped in at a few boutiques but grew weary fighting the touristy crowds on Hanover Street.  We decided to refuel by ducking into Caffe Dello Sport.

We grabbed a little table in the corner and eagerly soaked in the scene.  We felt like we transported to Europe.  Everybody was sipping on cappuccinos or sparkling water with their eyes focused on the soccer game shown on the three large TVs in the cafe.  It was just an interesting scene for two people who don't follow soccer at all.

I scanned the menu and settled on hot cafe mocha.  The warm chocolate flavor satisfied my sweet tooth while the caffeine perked me right up.

Bret was starving so he settled for a Diet Coke and a Maldini Pizzetta.  This small pizza was made on pita bread with lots of mozzarella cheese, sliced tomatoes and dried basil.

I stole a bite and loved the melted cheese, juicy tomatoes and chopped basil.  I think it was a great small bite but overpriced at $7.50 for what you're actually getting. It just seemed like the kind of thing that Bret and I would make at home when both of us are too lazy to really cook. Still, Bret said that this pizza hit the spot for him.
Caffe Dello Sport is located at 308 Hanover Street, Boston, MA.

I make those at home all the time, but I bet that is a million times more gourmet than anything coming out of my toaster oven :)

I haven't been to caffe dello sport but I'm pretty sure cafe vittoria is fairly similar. I rarely stop into those places but they always end up being fun.

Ha. We definitely make pizzas like that when we're feeling lazy. I'm pretty jealous of that mocha.

That little pizza looks pretty tasty... but agreed, a bit small for the price!

I love grabbing a capucinno in one of the North End cafes! That pizza looks tasty, and I love when I can get a small bite out but yeah definintely a bit expensive for what you get.

When i worked in the North End this was our team's favorite coffee spot but we liked other places better for food. Always some old guys sipping from little cups and reading Italian newspaper when we made our morning coffee run
