Last weekend, my best friend, Samantha, came into town to go bridesmaid dress shopping. While she was in town, she brought some sample scents from her perfume company - United Scents of America. Samantha has worked in the beauty and fragrance industry for the past decade and I'm so proud that she recently started her own perfume company! The concept behind United Scents of America is based on evoking nostalgia for one's "home state," the state you currently live in or a state that holds a special place in your heart."
United Scents of America has five scents based on five states - New York, Florida, New Jersey, Texas and California. And even though I'm a Massachusetts girl through and through, I am loving the New York scent, which has a lovely fruity scent. Samantha has assured me that Massachusetts is on the short list of the next states/scents!
I'm super proud of Samantha and her business partner, Sasha, for following their dreams and starting their own perfume company....and had to give them a shout-out on my blog. If you have a chance, check United Scents out on Facebook and on Twitter.
Also, don't forget to enter my Saucy Mama mustard giveaway!

I love this idea... though I am a little worried about what some states may smell like. :)
Megan, I had the same thoughts but I was really blown away by them (even if a lot of them aren't necessarily scents I'd wear). Sam gave me a bunch of samples. I'll have to remember to give you some the next time I see you!
I loved meeting Sam, and I am so excited for her business. I hope it is a great success!
Wow! That is super impressive. Let's just hope the Massachusetts scent doesn't smell like the associations people have with the Charles river. ;) Very cute concept.
It was so great to chat with Sam on Saturday and hear all about United Scents! Cannot wait to try out a few soon!
so proud of sam! i am dying to smell the NJ scent - i hope its more beachy than...snooki?! :)

This is so inspiring! It's so great that your friend took her passion and made it into something her own.
What a fun idea! I doubt Alaska is on the short list, though it would be interesting to see what scent your friend came up with for it.
go Sam!! I love this idea.
I have the New Jersey scent (won it from a giveaway on AveYou.com) and I absolutely love it! Never been to Jersey but the scent smells fantastic!
